Tryfan in the snow

The view from the car park.

Looking down on a part-frozen Llyn Ogwen.

Still smiling (we hadn't walked far at this point).

The only way is up.

On top of the world.

I can't believe we just scrambled up that.

View from the top of Tryfan.

Would you Adam and Eve it.  No jumping today, not with that ice on top of the rocks!

A frozen Llyn Bochlwyd.

Snow sculptures.

Fast descent from Tryfan.

Llyn Bochlwyd in the sun.

Looking towards Bethesda.

Llyn Idwal.

Under the A5.

Many walkers had ice axes or crampons.  Some had both.  We had neither and managed to ascend Tryfan without much difficulty, following footprints and steps already stamped into the snow.  I wouldn't have fancied my chances descending the same way, but the route down to Llyn Bochlwyd was much easier.  There was an obvious route tramped in the snow and we slid down much of it on our bums!
