Quadzilla Day 3 - nearly there!

Another good start - the hotel fire alarm went off at 2:30am this morning.  At least they let us wait in reception rather than freezing outside.  The sun was out when I woke up the second time - a good sign and it stayed out all day, taking the edge off the chill, quite a contrast to the last two days.  I wasn't taking chances though, and was in a sports shop buying a new breathable top just 45 minutes before the start (nothing like using well tested kit in a race!)

Everything went right with the run today.  Yes my legs ached a little from the previous 52.4 miles, but I felt good, running a very even pace all the way round.  The sun felt great, althoughmuch of the lake was still frozen.  I even stayed ahead of a couple of people who had beaten me the previous two days.

It was great to run all the way round for a third day, with the only walking being briefly on the inclines to maintain constant effort.  I picked up the pace on the last lap, clocking progressively faster times for each of the last four kilometres.  I'll probably pay for that pace tomorrow, but I was enjoying the run too much to hold back.

Enigma Quadzilla Marathon Day 4 Medal
That's marathon #32 for me.  Here's a link to the route on Strava.  I finished in 4:18:02, over six minutes faster than yesterdayand 26th out of 70 finishers (more runners than yesterday, but then not everyone is running all four days).

I'm already looking forward to the final run of the four tomorrow!
